That pressure of anything other than La Liga success and a pretty good go at adding the Champions League trophy too is probably a good reason why managers at the Nou Camp never seem to last too long in the role, with current boss Ernesto Valverde the club’s 11th manager since 2000.

And according to the man himself, he might not be there for much longer.

“I do not know what I will do next season,” he said recently. “In this football, who knows? We all know how things are. I never think long or long term.

“For us, two months is a very long term. If you win a game, everyone is happy and if you lose, everyone is watching you.

“If you do not win the League, everyone looks at the coach because it is marked like that. I try to meet the objectives and, of course, how much we have left, so let’s see it.”

So if Valverde is to leave, just who will be the next man in through the revolving Nou Camp doors?
