Diego Maradona has been named as the chairman of obscure Belarussian club Dinamo Brest.

The Argentinian football legend who stood down as manager of United Arab Emirates outfit Al Fujairah last month will begin his new position after the 2018 World Cup.

The 57-year-old has signed a three-year deal with Brest and is tasked with “dealing with the strategic development of the club”.

One-time Belarussian Premier League winners Dinamo are presently eighth in the league and through to the Belarusian Cup final, where they will meet BATE Borisov by the end of next week.
