Chelsea legend Didier Drogba has commended the skill Ahmed Musa displayed in his first goal scored in the 49th minute of Nigeria’s 2-0 win against Iceland at the 2018 World Cup.

The Super Eagles number seven stretched his leg to control a cross from Victor Moses before firing home a fantastic half-volley from close range past the Iceland goalkeeper Hannes Halldorsen.

”That’s a great finish, the first touch is unbelievable, that is the perfect touch to finish a goal, a good goal, a good touch most of the time is a goal,” Drogba told BBC during his post-match analysis.

”The difficulty in controlling the ball makes it a beautiful goal.”

The Leicester City striker would have scored a hat-trick but saw his effort strike the crossbar in the 74th minute.

”What a chance, people are on the sides, in the middle, there are strikers there so they have a lot of options,” added Drogba.

Today’s victory means Nigeria are now second in the Group D standings with three points from two matches, three points behind group leader Croatia but two ahead of Iceland and Argentina.
