Chelsea’s £132m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has been turned down.

Madrid president Florentino Perez rejected the Blues’ offer, which is the first alleged approach for the player this season, according to Spanish outlet Don Balon.

The 23-year-old, who has scored ten goals and gave 4 assist for Madrid this term, has seen his progress stall under Zinedine Zidane and Marco Asensio is now vying for a place in the starting lineup in the capital.

The news outlet claims, nevertheless, that Asensio has been assured of his place in the Madrid team by Perez, who has told other clubs that the midfielder is not for sale.

Marco Asensio is under contract with his present employers until 2023 after signing an extension in September.
