Croatia have put fear in the minds of the Super Eagles ahead of their opening fixture on June 16 by crushing Senegal 2-1 in their last international friendly game on Friday night.

Having lost 2-0 to World Cup favorites Brazil last week in a warm-up encounter at Anfield, Croatia needed a spark to boost the confidence of the players as they defeated Senegal 2-1.

Croatia beat Senegal 2-1, send statement of intent to Nigeria

Senegal took the lead through Ismaila Sarr before Ivan Perisic equalized with a heavily deflected free-kick. Kramaric displayed a killer instinct in the penalty area, drilling in a rebound after a Senegalese defender blocked his first shot for the winning goal.

Croatians will start their Group D campaign against Nigeria on June 16 before taking on Argentina and Iceland, while Senegal will open their Group H campaign against Poland on June 19 followed by games against Japan and Colombia.
