Kane Confident Of Beating Salah In Scoring Charts

Harry Kane says he is confident of catching Liverpool rival Mohamed Salah at the top of the Premier League scoring charts.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker has won the Golden Boot in each of the past 2 seasons and is now aiming to become the first player since Thierry Henry to make it a hat-trick.

The 24-year-old trails Salah by 5 goals, which he hopes to see reduced to 4 when the dubious goals committee run the rule over Tottenham’s second goal against Stoke City at the weekend – the Englishman appearing to get the slightest of touches to Christian Eriksen’s cross.

Speaking to reporters after Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 win at the bet365 Stadium, Kane told reporters: “I swear on my daughter’s life that I touched the ball, but there’s nothing I can do.

“If they turn it around, they turn it around. If they take my word, they take my word. It is what it is – the most important thing is that we won the game.

“I still believe I can [catch Salah]. There are still games to go. I’ve got to focus on my game. I can’t control what he does. Obviously as a striker, it would be great to win the Golden Boot again and I will keep working hard from now until the end of the season.”

Kane has 6 games remaining to beat Salah, whose team have only 5 matches left to play.
