Earlier on Tuesday, a report suggested that the 20-year-old would be absent from the Kiev showdown with Real Madrid but remained with a chance of representing England at the World Cup next month.
However, Liverpool have moved to shed light on the situation, stating that Gomez would not be available to return to training until July.
In March, the youngster sustained an ankle injury while representing the Three Lions in a friendly with the Netherlands but Gomez returned after a month on the sidelines to feature in two top-flight contests for the Merseyside giants.
Gomez has missed the last three fixtures, however, and will now aim to regain full fitness when pre-season begins later in the summer.
The player ends the campaign having made a total of 30 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.
