Thibaut Courtois has said that he wants his future with Chelsea to be resolved before he heads to the 2018 World Cup with Belgium.

The Chelsea goalkeeper will enter the final year of his deal next season, and with no extension presently in place, the Blues stopper is at risk of being lost to another European heavyweight.

The 25-year-old told Sporza that he wants to go to the finals in Russia in June with a ”clear idea” set out for his future.

“If I go to the World Cup with a clear idea, sign or wait another year, then I have a clear head at the tournament.

“I am still proud to play at Chelsea and I want to achieve success. I have one year left on my contract and feel good at Chelsea, at the end of the season we will sit down together and set out a vision.

“I know that I will be at Chelsea next year as well,” Thibaut Courtois said.

The goalkeeper said admitted earlier this year that he’d not rule out going back to his family in Spain, where he spent time on loan with Atletico Madrid.
