Tottenham Hotspur to Snatch Sam Johnstone from Manchester United
Johnstone hinted earlier this month that he will be quitting Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the campaign.
The Sun claims that the 25-year-old has performed well in the second tier with Aston Villa this season and is sought after by the Villans on a permanent basis, but that competition will be provided by Tottenham.
United are understood to still have the opportunity to extend Sam Johnstone’s contract by a further 12 months, however, which they may take up before then letting him go for a fee.
Michel Vorm is the Lilywhites’ present second-choice keeper, being constrained to 10 starts in all competitions this term – only one of which has come in the Premier League.
