UEFA Allows Fourth Substitution in Champions League next season

Clubs will be allowed to make a fourth substitution in next season’s Champions League, UEFA announced.

The fourth substitution rule will only be used in knockout games that have been pushed to extra time, which means that an additional change can be made after 3 substitutions have already occurred during a game.

UEFA has also decided to introduce new kickoff times for the 2018-19 competition, with some games happening at 8pm and 2 games on both Tuesday and Wednesday starting at 5.55pm.

Moreover, once the group stage has been concluded, clubs will be permitted to add 3 new players to their squads without any restrictions.
