West Ham United vs Everton: Wayne Rooney out with knee injury

Wayne Rooney has reportedly been ruled out of the West Ham United vs Everton’s meeting through a knee injury and so the striker-cum-midfielder may have played his last game in English football.

The ex-England international was absent from the squad to face Southampton last weekend and is not expected to be involved at the London Stadium on Sunday.

According to Sky Sports News, the 32-year-old missed training on Friday afternoon and the knee setback is serious enough to keep him sidelined for the final weekend of the campaign.

As speculation continues to gather pace regarding the former Manchester United ace’s future, with a move to Major League Soccer side DC United said to be on the cards, Rooney’s 14-year Premier League career could now be over.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Everton boss Sam Allardyce declare that the player is free to leave should he wish.
